What is the event about?
The event is FREE for social workers to attend comprises three key areas (or zones):
- a conference programme made up of debates and workshops. These sessions cannot be booked in advance, so we would recommend that you arrive at least 15 minutes early for any particular session you would wish to attend. Programme content may change at short notice, so delegates should refer to the web site for updates.
- an exhibition area – where delegates can meet organisations to help them with their work and career
- Risk Factor Live! is an interactive session aimed at mitigating risk in real case studies
Who is exhibiting at the event?
Our exhibitors are several public, private and not-for-profit providers in the children and families sector. Click here for the most updated list.
Who should visit the event?
Delegates must be social work professionals in the children and families sector. Other professionals are also welcomed, such as nurses, teachers etc. Carers can also attend the event. Due to the content of the conference programme we have to impose an age restriction of 18 years old. Those bringing push buggies or young children will not be admitted. Please note we have no crèche or child minding facilities.
Will there be any seminars or workshops?
Yes, we will run several debates or workshops throughout the day. Click here to see the most updated programme.
How can I register to attend?
Click on the ‘Register Now’ yellow button at the top of this page and fill in the registration form. You will receive a confirmation email with your badge number. Alternatively you can register on the day when you arrive. However, registering in advance will save you having to queue on arrival.
Is there a catalogue available? When can I get one? Is there a charge?
You can get a FREE copy of the event guide at the event itself, with all the essential info regarding the event. If you register in advance, we’ll also send you a pdf copy of the ‘programme at a glance’ for you to print off and bring with you on the day.
What is the dress code?
The dress code is casual.
Should I bring my CV?
Yes, you can bring your CV to discuss with those exhibitors who are recruiting.
When is the next Community Care Live event?
Community Care will organise another Live event in May 2013. This is a larger, two-day event and targets social care professionals from adults sector as well as children & families sector. The website for this event will go live in January 2013.
Where do I pick up my badge?
Find your confirmation email, print it out and bring it to the event where your badge wil be printed.
Will my badge allow me entry into the event?
This event is only on one day, the 14 November 2012.

I am a newly qualified social worker - will you pay for my travel costs?
We do not sponsor attendance to our event, but we keep entrance free to help keep travelling and attendance costs at a minimum.
Can I pre-book to attend sessions from the conference programme?
All sessions are available on a first come, first served basis only. There can be a high demand for space in some sessions so we would suggest that you arrive at least 15 minutes before the start of any session you particularly want to attend.

Yes, we ask for contact details and a few demographics. On the last page of the registration form you can unsubscribe from receiving emails from Community Care, our Parent Company (Reed Elsevier), our Affiliated Companies and Third Parties, so you won’t receive any communication not relating to this event.
I don't want to be contacted after the event; how can I prevent this from happening?
On the last page of the registration form you can unsubscribe from receiving emails from Community Care, our Parent Company (Reed Elsevier), our Affiliated Companies and Third Parties, so you won’t receive any communication not relating to this event. If in the future you do not want to receive information about Children & Families Live you can unsubscribe from our emails at any time.
Can I visit the event if I'm not in the trade?
Yes, if you have an interest in social care services for children and families this event could be of interest for you.
I am a student; can I visit the event?
Yes, but please be aware that debate and workshops sessions are restricted to over 18 year olds only.

Can I have a visa invitation?
This is a free event to attend and as such we do not issue visa invitations.
Can you sponsor my trip/help me find a sponsor?
Unfortunately we do not provide sponsorship to attend the event but we keep the entrance free-of-charge for delegates.

Can I hire a wheelchair at the event?
Yes. Please approach the Business Design Centre reception in the foyer to ask for more details.
What is wheelchair access like at the venue?
There is a lift available between the ground floor and the Gallery Level. Contact a member of staff on arrival, who will be more than happy to facilitate access around the event. Members of staff are identifiable by their name badges.
Will there be anywhere to buy food while I'm at the exhibition?
Yes, there will be a cafeteria on the exhibition floor and on the Gallery level.
Can my children visit the event with me?
Yes, but please note that attendance at debates and workshops is restricted to over 18 years olds. Please note we have no crèche or child minding facilities.
Are pushchairs allowed into the exhibition halls?
Unfortunately no, for safety reasons.
Are there any crèche facilities?
No.
Is there a cloakroom at the event?
No.
Will lunch be provided?
No, but there is a cafeteria located in the exhibition floor and one on the Gallery floor.
Disabled Access
The approach to the building is ramped for wheelchair use and all floors can be accessed by the lift at the front of the building. There are toilets for people with disabilities on each level, which can be reached by the lift at the front of the building. Adjacent to the building is an underground car park with ample reserved spaces for drivers with disabled passes. There is a lift from the car park to ground floor level. Please note that this facility is not free. We advise that those suffering from serious disabilities contact the organiser of the event they are visiting with any special request prior to attending the venue.
