A message from The College of Social Work, partner of Children & Families Live 2011

The College of Social Work is being developed as an independent membership organisation, which will represent the social work profession throughout England.  
The College will be led and run by social workers, enabling them to take real ownership of their own professional standards and take responsibility for their professional development, speaking with genuine authority to politicians, policy makers and the media about key issues in the social work arena.
One of our overriding aims is to harness the contribution of social workers in practice, practice education, knowledge development, research, public education and leadership, to ensure that our services are of the highest quality and that our future members really will receive the best possible support, representation, advice and guidance.
Our mission is to develop a strong profession, confident about the unique contributions that social work makes to the individuals, families and communities it serves, with a clear sense of its values, ethics and purpose.

The College of Social Work is recruiting Prospective Members who will have the opportunity to become Founder Members when The College becomes a legal entity (subject to eligibility). As a social work professional registering to attend Children & Families Live 2011 you will automatically be registered to become a Prospective Member of The College of Social Work. Your details will be passed on to The College of Social Work for processing.
